The main responsibilities of the Quality Control Inspector include: ensuring that all test pressings are evaluated, documented, and completed efficiently, regularly inspecting discs at the press to identify potential issues, and working in collaboration with the production team to maintain the quality standards of Citizen Vinyl. Necessary skills include: accuracy, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of the cutting, plating, and vinyl making processes. Working with the production team to increase efficiency and productivity while maintaining quality is of the utmost importance.

Daily tasks of the Quality Control Inspector include: listening to test pressings and production discs for potential issues, logging all test pressing assessments, measuring the physical characteristics of records to ensure they are within RIAA specifications, generating quality control reports, effective communication with the production leaders and staff, packaging and labeling test discs, communication with clients about test pressing issues, making improvements to the test pressing and QC workflows, maintaining the test pressing library, and keeping pace with the test pressing schedule. The Quality Control Inspector is an individual contributor as well as member of the production team – this is not a manager or supervisor position. He/she/they must be able to stand/sit for extended periods of time and lift up to 30 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include hearing pitch, hearing transients, distinguishing non-musical artifacts and extended listening times at various volume levels.
