Citizen Vinyl wouldn’t exist without musicians. We’re here because of your art. So many musicians in our community have found themselves without gigs and opportunities necessary for their livelihood. Some have lost equipment, instruments, and homes.
Here are resources for those in need, as well as donation sites for those who are able to help out:
MusiCares — provides a safety net of critical health and welfare services to the music community in three key areas: Mental Health & Addiction Recovery Services, Financial assistance during crisis situations; and support for basic living expenses like rent, utilities, car payments and insurance premiums in times of hardship.
Red Cross — The American Red Cross Western North Carolina Chapter serves a population of more than 775 thousand people in the counties of Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania and Yancey.
• Samaritan’s Purse — The International Relief organization is responding in five locations after Hurricane Helene devastated parts of the Southeast. Locally, “Our response there is focused on Buncombe County, which includes Asheville, Black Mountain, Montreat, and Swannanoa. Our base is the Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove,” says the organization.
