Please join us for the kick-off event in Asheville, North Carolina for the TRANS KIDS, OUR KIDS book tour! Trans Kids, Our Kids: Stories and Resources from the Frontlines of the Movement for Transgender Youth is a new book that takes readers inside the movement for transgender youth, told through narratives that will open your eyes, break your heart, and give you hope. Presented in Partnership with Malaprop’s Bookstore on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 7 at Citizen Vinyl.
The book is co-written by team members from the Campaign for Southern Equality, a leader in the work to protect trans youth and their families across the South and, through the Trans Youth Emergency Project, nationwide.
This launch event in Asheville, hosted at Citizen Vinyl in partnership with Malaprop’s Bookstore, will include a reading from TRANS KIDS, OUR KIDS; a panel discussion that includes co-authors Alexis Stratton, Adam Polaski, and Jasmine Beach-Ferrara, cover designer Liz Williams, and team members from the Campaign for Southern Equality; a Q&A focused on how you can take action; and a book signing. And stick around afterward for a reception with light refreshments and a cash bar.
Please RSVP for this free event – and, if you’re able, add a donation that will directly support trans and queer youth. All proceeds from the sales of TRANS KIDS, OUR KIDS will support the Trans Youth Emergency Project, which helps families of trans youth navigate anti-transgender healthcare restrictions. Books will be available for purchase by Malaprop’s on-site at the event, or you can pre-order here.
