Listen To This: Stories and More on Stage Presents, “You’re Under Citizen’s Arrest” True Tales of Taking the Law Into Your Own Hands. Thursday, July 25, 7 p.m. doors and 8 p.m. show. $15 advance / $20 at the door.
Featuring stories by Carmela Caruso, David Greenson, Kelli Harrell, and Safiya Myers, plus a story from afar from Waylon Wood and a story into a song by Rebecca O’Quinn aka Fancy Marie. Also featuring music by Hannah Kaminer and stand-up comedy from Petey Smith McDowell. Hosted by Tom Chalmers with DJ Colby laying down the law and laying down the tracks.
Tom Chalmers is host and producer of the long-running monthly storytelling series, Listen to This, stories and more on stage, that originated in LA and continues on in Asheville. He is a graduate of Columbia University and the former Artistic Director of NYC’s Groundlings East/Gotham City Improv. Tom currently teaches storytelling classes through the Flatiron Writer’s Room and improv and physical comedy classes at Warren Wilson College and Asheville School of Improv (which he started). He is a member of the popular local improv troupe, Reasonably Priced Babies. On Wednesday nights, you can hear Tom co-host a sports talk radio show called Run That Back on AshevilleFM 103.3.
