Psychic Hotline has announced a two-day retail pop-up at Citizen Vinyl on Wednesday, June 14, and Thursday, June 15, noon-6 p.m.
The pop-up coincides with Sylvan Esso’s highly anticipated tour kick-off shows at Rabbit Rabbit in downtown Asheville. The two independent North Carolina-based music companies have an ongoing partnership, with Citizen Vinyl pressing the majority of Psychic Hotline’s vinyl releases.
Over the course of the two day event, Psychic Hotline will set up a factory retail outlet offering the label’s catalog, including early access to new releases from Kieran Hebden (Four Tet) & William Tyler as well as Asheville’s own The Dead Tongues ahead of their official release dates. There will be stock available of North Carolina exclusive LP variants from Phil Cook, Tim Bernardes, Sam Gendel and more, as well as previously online-exclusive releases from Flock of Dimes, GRRL x Made of Oak, and Peach Fuzz. Additional offerings include Sylvan Esso tour merch, exclusive hand-dyed Psychic Hotline shirts, Japanese-import CDs and collaborative limited run items with Oxford Pennant.
Guests are encouraged to come browse the selection and learn more about both the label and Citizen Vinyl, which will offer tours of its facilities both days. The event will also include DJ sets from the Psychic Hotline extended community including Nick Sanborn of Sylvan Esso, Helado Negro, DJ Lil Meow Meow, SHWNxSBTG, etc.
Citizen Vinyl will be offering tours of their pressing facility at 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. both days. Space is extremely limited, so email jruss@citizenvinyl.com to reserve your spot today.
There will also be food pop-ups: A Tapas Pop-Up by Chef Paul Cressend (Wednesday) and Burmese tapas served by aThokelay (Thursday). Natural wine speakeasy Pink Moon will be pouring glasses, and Citizen Vinyl’s Session Cafe & Bar will be debuting a Psychic Hotline-inspired menu of craft cocktails.
