Slow Runner is the creation of Michael Flynn, an Americana-adjacent singer-songwriter based in Western North Carolina. Michael was the 2021 NewSong Music Songwriting Competition Grand Prize Winner; part of his prize package included recording an album at Citizen Studios with producer Gar Ragland. The record, which was also pressed at Citizen Vinyl, was released on all platforms on October 11.
Indie-pop artist Moon Bride (formerly Carly Taich), writes about doubt, faith, fear and love in a way that’s anything but cliche. Framing her self-aware lyrics with cinematic orchestration and unusual melodies that take us to another dimension, there is a storybook mysticism to all Moon Bride touches, with one foot planted in this reality.
